Redesigned Apple Watch Series 10
The Apple Watch Series 10 brings a complete redesign of the case, offering new sizes: 42mm and 46mm, up from the previous 41mm and 45mm options. This allows for the largest display area ever in an Apple Watch, surpassing even the Ultra 2. The display isn’t just bigger; it’s also 40% brighter from an off-angle, enhancing visibility in various lighting conditions.
Enhanced Always-On Display and Thin Design
The new display now supports the second hand in always-on mode, even when the wrist is down, unlike previous models that updated the screen every minute. The Series 10 is also Apple’s thinnest watch to date, at 9.7mm thick, compared to 10.7mm in previous versions.
Improved Speaker and Performance
With redesigned internals, the Series 10 now allows music playback directly from the watch’s speaker without needing Bluetooth devices. It is powered by the new S10 SiP chipset, offering automatic background noise reduction on voice calls, ensuring clearer communication in noisy environments.
Water and Temperature Tracking
The Series 10 introduces a depth gauge for snorkeling, supporting depths up to 6 meters (20 feet) and recording water temperature for both pool and open-water swims. These features are enhanced through partnerships with apps like Oceanic Plus, similar to functionalities available in the Apple Watch Ultra.
New Tides App and Software Features
Apple Watch Series 10, along with other watchOS 11 devices, includes a new Tides app that provides tidal information from over 150,000 locations worldwide. It also features enhanced vitals tracking, training load stats, and sleep apnea detection, which leverages breathing disturbance metrics validated by clinical studies.
Pricing and Availability
The Apple Watch Series 10 starts at $399 for the base aluminum model, with higher prices for cellular versions and titanium options. Titanium models are 20% lighter than the stainless steel variants and are available only in Cellular Plus Bluetooth configurations.
Apple Watch Ultra 2 and SE Updates
The Apple Watch Ultra 2, available now in a new jet black finish, offers similar functionalities to the Series 10, including sleep apnea detection. The Apple Watch SE joins the jet black lineup and includes the Tides app, but does not support sleep apnea detection.
